As a consultant, trainer, and author of Your Dream Career For Dummies and The Seasons of Change, Carol provides clients with unique tools, refreshing perspectives, and powerful insights to help them transform their confusion, frustration, and procrastination into clarity, hope, and positive action.
Carol has been studying, speaking, writing, and consulting on life and career transitions for over 20 years. She first developed her interest in transitions in 1983 while completing her PhD in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology at Purdue University.

Following graduation, she worked for five years as an internal Human Resource consultant for a Fortune 500 company, facilitating a variety of corporate transitions. During her years in the corporate world, she also experienced a series of personal transitions including the death of her father and a period of severe physical burnout that led to her own career change.
In 1991 she founded Transition Dynamics®
to support others in transition. Since then
her work has focused on three main areas.
After
running several Craving a Career Change support groups
and teaching career self-assessment courses at San Jose
State University, Carol began working with
individuals to help them clarify their vision of their
next career. Since 1993 she's supported a wide variety
of clients from administrative assistants to executives,
from scientists to artists, from stay-at-home moms to
entrepreneurs..
As
a result of her work with clients, she's created an
in-depth Career Clarity™ Program and written two
books, Your Dream Career For Dummies (2005)
and Changing Careers For Dummies (2001—now out
of print).
Even
before a series of transitions in quick succession completely
changed her life, Carol was fascinated with the change
of seasons. Little did she know that observing
the change of seasons during her graduate school years
in Indiana would become so important to her future.
After
her father died in 1986, she turned to nature to understand
how to respond to her life changes as gracefully as
nature did each season. When she started her
business in 1991 she began sharing her insights with
others in transition. Eventually her ideas became the
Seasons of Change Model, a gentle, inspiring, and supportive
approach to life changes. Her ideas and the nature metaphors
she shares allow people in transition to see light at
the end of the tunnel, which gives them the hope, insight,
and direction they need to reach Spring.
In
2002, Carol began training Transition Professionals,
such as therapists, coaches, and consultants, to use
the Career Clarity™ Program and the Seasons of
Change in their work with clients in transition.
She
has trained fifty-seven professionals in five countries
and thirty states. In addition, Carol is
the host of the International Coach Federation's Transition
Special Interest Group and her Seasons of Change course
is listed as an advanced course for the Institute of
Life Coach Training.
She
has also been invited to speak for several professional
training schools including the Institute of
Transpersonal Psychology, Lead U, and several coaching
Special Interest Groups.
Over
the years, Carol has spoken to a variety of professional
groups, at Chamber of Commerce events, women's
conferences, and in companies such as Hewlett Packard,
Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Levi Strauss, Minetta San
Jose International Airport, and SRI.
In addition, Carol has been a featured radio guest on a number of radio stations, including
WBAP News/Talk 820 in Dallas TX, CBS Radio / WDSY Y108 in Pittsburg PA, and Wisdom Radio Network.
